ReadingMatters

 In Church, Culture

I now do a lot of reading on my iPad. Though my vision is considerably better after 3 eye surgeries, being able to adjust the font is helpful.

So, what am I reading this summer? I try to read in many areas. I have read biographies of Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jefferson. And Nettle’s new volume on Charles Spurgeon.

In the preaching field I have read Wiersbe’s “The Dynamics of Preaching,” Sout’s Whitefield book, “The Divine Dramatist,” and “Text Message” edited by Stackhouse and Crisp.

If you want fascinating true stories, read Winchester’s “The Professor and the Madman.” And for sure Hilenbrad’s “Unbroken.”

The way for preachers to stay fresh and current is to read.

Reading matters.
